Information for Speakers

Thank you for your participation in the 2023 Charleston Conference! Details and deadlines are listed below for presenters.

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • September 22: Early Bird Registration Deadline
  • October 23: All registered attendees will be able to access the Whova event site – please update your speaker profile before this date!
  • November 3: Deadline for all virtual-only presentation videos to be uploaded to Dropbox.
  • January 26: Conference Proceedings Papers Due

Helpful Information for All Presenters:

  • The conference program app and virtual event will be hosted through the Whova event platform.
  • The preferred aspect ratio for your slides is 16:9.
  • All presenters should include their name, affiliation, and a photo on the opening slide of their presentation.
  • Conference logos are available for download for use on slides and materials.
  • Review these Accessibility Guidelines to ensure your slides and materials are accessible to all.
  • No commercial activities or any advertising may be included in your slides. All sessions are expected to be vendor neutral and are not intended to be commercial or promotional opportunities.

Please review the information and guidelines for your presentation type below:

Pre-Recorded Video Presentations for Virtual-Only Sessions:

  • File Upload Link 
  • Video file name should be the session title, for example “global_perspectives_on_open_access_in_practice.mp4″
  • Submit only one video per session.
  • Upload your video files by November 3. We cannot guarantee inclusion of sessions whose videos aren’t received by the deadline.
