Citing a press release, KnowledgeSpeak reports that “The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) has reached a significant milestone, garnering 25,000 signatures from individuals and organizations worldwide. Each signature signifies support for DORA’s principles, which were first outlined in the original declaration drafted in 2013.

DORA’s extensive signatory base includes a diverse array of supporters: from individual researchers to universities, academic publishers, funding agencies, and more. Although the majority of the signatures are from individuals, a notable percentage comes from various organizations, including universities, departments and libraries within universities, academic publishers, and funding bodies.

Since its inception, DORA has expanded far beyond the initial declaration. The organization now offers a wide range of tools and resources aimed at promoting and supporting improved methods of research assessment. Despite its growth, the list of signatories remains a cornerstone of DORA’s mission, underscoring the widespread commitment to the principles of fair and accurate research evaluation.
