Open Position: Marketing Director

As we expand, we’re looking for a Marketing Director to lead the way in planning and executing our marketing activities. If you’re a creative and collaborative marketing professional with a passion for your craft, this could be your next career adventure.

The position is remote and our small but growing team is based around the globe. Here’s a message from our President. 

In the job, you’ll take charge of:

Our annual marketing plan and execution: (10% of time) 

  • Create and manage a marketing plan and calendar to track all activities throughout the year. You will own some of these activities yourself, while in other cases you will track activities owned by the editorial and sales teams.
  • Establish and monitor KPI’s for marketing and guide decision-making with data.
  • Even though planning may only take 10% of time, it is critical because it allows us to track, evaluate, and improve our activities throughout the year.

Conference planning and execution: (30% of time)

  • Take charge of global conference logistics and associated deadlines
  • Win opportunities for Coherent editors, sales executives, and thought leaders to speak and present.
  • Organize and promote engagement sessions, lunch and learns, and events
  • Create and execute all pre-conference campaigns and promotions.
  • Ensure all collateral is up to date and printed on deadline.

Content Production & Management: (20% of time)

  • Ensure the corporate website is up-to-date with the latest language and assets. 
  • Act as a central hub for content contributions from various teams. Editorial, sales, and technology teams all contribute to collateral, case studies, knowledge base articles, training manuals, onboarding materials, videos, and more. You ensure currency, clarity, quality, and maintenance across the whole.
  • Support the editorial team as needed by creating content directly, including sourcing case studies and testimonials from end users, etc. 
  • Be the owner of LinkedIn and other social media platforms as decided
  • Ensure that a global, culturally-sensitive, and EDI perspective are woven throughout our external communications.

Campaigns  (20% of time)

  • Generate 3-6 focused campaigns from beginning to end aimed at opening a new market or delivering new qualified leads to the sales team.

Data and Audience (10% of time):

  • As needed, source contact information to ensure our communications and promotions are reaching the correct audiences. 
  • Own our automated marketing system (Zoho Campaigns), its integration with the CRM, and lists and segments.

Press & Media Relations (10% of time): 

  • Develop and distribute press releases to share company news throughout the industry. 
  • Create opportunities for Coherent editors, sales executives, and thought leaders to speak and write in other media.

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in strategic marketing and campaign execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • A creative thinker with a passion for content development and campaign execution.
  • Familiarity with marketing software, tools, and platforms, including CRM systems, analytics tools, and marketing automation.
