~ Reaffirms commitment to encourage start-ups working towards advancement of science and technology ~
Oxford, UK, September 29th, 2021: Cactus Communications (CACTUS), a technology company transforming science, today announced that it has made a further investment in Kudos Innovations Ltd. This additional investment makes CACTUS the largest external stakeholder in the company and showcases CACTUS’s commitment to back promising companies that align with its vision of moving science forward.
Kudos is an award-winning networking and communications tracking platform for accelerating research impact. The platform, being one of the pioneers in this space, helps 400,000 researchers in 10,000 universities across 190 countries showcase their research, build a global audience, and measure reach and engagement.
Speaking about investment rationale, Abhishek Goel, Co-Founder and CEO, CACTUS said, “CACTUS is committed to supporting start-ups that work towards productively helping researchers. Kudos with its long-term vision of democratizing the impact of science by promotion and dissemination of scientific research is in alignment with our vision. Through this investment, CACTUS has reaffirmed its faith in the potential Kudos holds in the years to come.”
Commenting on the investment, Melinda Kenneway, CEO of Kudos, said “Cactus were an early investor in Kudos, with a shared vision for advancing research communications to expand awareness and understanding of emerging knowledge. This further more significant investment is built on mutual trust in the partnership and commitment to growing our business to serve the research community in reaching and engaging with new audiences”.
In June 2020, Kudos had announced a partnership with Impact Science, a CACTUS brand that offers solutions for wider research outreach within the scientific community, the public, and amongst policymakers.
CACTUS has been committed to the advancement of science, not just through its various businesses but also through investments in start-ups that are working in this direction. CACTUS’s other investments include Scholarcy, which offers tech-driven research summarization solutions, and Kolabtree, the world’s largest freelance platform for scientists. It also acquired Unsilo, a Denmark based artificial intelligence software developer rethinking publishing with AI, last year.
