NorthEast Research Libraries and Center for Research Libraries join growing movement to support Directory of Open Access Journals in the USA

According to DOAJ News ” The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is delighted to be entering into a new agreement with the NorthEast Research Libraries Consortium (NERL) and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) in the United States. The arrangement will allow for greater support to DOAJ from the more than 300 members of the two consortia…”


Digital library collections serve more readers at lower cost

Library Technology Guides notes that “OverDrive annually reports on the growth of circulation as public libraries … During the 12 months from March 2020 through February 2021 … OverDrive reported that record-breaking patron demand combined with high librarian engagement resulted in decreased overall cost per checkout, enabling more readers to be served at a lower cost…”


U.S. Copyright Office Completes Reorganization

According to Information Today “The U.S. Copyright Office announced that it “has updated its regulations to implement the Office’s May 2021 reorganization. The reorganization is intended to improve the Office’s effectiveness and efficiency by renaming divisions and realigning certain reporting structures and reflects the agency structure for the new copyright small-claims tribunal established by the Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement (‘CASE’) Act of 2020…”
