In this fun post, Literary Hub’s Emily Temple, illustrates one of the downsides of a book going into public domain – They can be reprinted and resold with a hideous cover. And to prove her point, she has assembled 5o examples of some of the most egregious offenders.
As Ms Temple notes “some are merely ugly” while “others make it clear that no one involved in the creation of the cover cracked open the book.”
But all is not lost. After spending some time with Ms Temple’s collection of covers, you’ll have to admit that some of them are pretty darn funny.
