A New Issue of “Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship” (No. 96) is Now Available Online

According to infoDOCKET “Issue No. 96 (Fall 2020) of  Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship was recently published online.


Public Library of Science (PLOS) and Canadian Knowledge Research Network (CKRN) Announce Community Action Publishing (CAP) Agreement

infoDOCKET also reports that “The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) and the Public Library of Science (PLOS) today announced an agreement for CRKN members to participate in PLOS’ Community Action Publishing (CAP) program, a new collective action publishing model from PLOS, enabling 19 participating CRKN institutions to publish fee-free in PLOS Medicine and PLOS Biology...”


AAAS announces updates on OA publication

KnowledgeSpeak notes that “The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the nonprofit publisher of the six Science family journals, is announcing an update to its terms of open access (OA) publication. On a trial basis, AAAS will allow authors funded by cOAlition S organisations to place a CC BY or a CC BY-ND license on their accepted manuscripts…”


SPARC Africa partners with AfLIA to advance open sharing of knowledge and research

According to KnowledgeSpeakSPARC Africa has partnered with African Library & Information Associations & Institutions (AfLIA) in a new effort to advance the open sharing of knowledge and research on the continent.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in December 2020 to formalise the partnership. The MOU sets up SPARC Africa operations as a section within AfLIA, a nonprofit organisation for libraries and librarians headquartered in Ghana with 141 member institutions and associations.


Two New Digital Collections re: the Desegregation of the University of Georgia

Also according to infoDOCKET the University of Georgia has announced the availability of two new digital collections related to the desegregation of the university: the William Tate Desegregation Files and the Omer Clyde Aderhold Papers.
