I just received the 2020 Charleston Conference welcome packet which was sent to the first group of registrants (approx. 1500). The packet included the 2021 Calendar sponsored by Sage, a welcome postcard from our sponsors –- BetterWorld Books, Clarivate Analytics, Modern Language Association, SAGE, Cambridge University Press, Ex Libris, Gale, IOS Press, Morresier, Rittenhouse Book Distributors, Adam Matthew Digital, AIP, Annual Reviews, Bloomsbury Digital Resources, Geological Society of London, ICE Publishing, JSTOR, Kanopy, Knowledge Futures Group. LIBLYNX, OverDrive, Oxford University Press, ProQuest, Rebus Foundation, Springer Nature, The Royal Society, and Wiley.
As of now we have nearly 3000 registrants and counting. Wow! If you haven’t registered, time’s a wastin’!
I spent several hours in the virtual Vendor Showcase yesterday with Leah, Toni Nix, and several booth staff as we were learning our way around the Pathable Platform. It’s easier than I thought it would be, and we have gotten several compliments to that effect. BTW the Vendor Showcase will be open throughout the entire conference at noted times. The showcase booths will be open for a year after the conference closes as well! Hooha! Monday is Exploration Day for us all to play with the Conference platform! Have at it!
The incredible Aaisha Haykal is opening the Career Center during the week. Look for it on the conference schedule. There is a lot of interest.
And take note of the virtual Poster sessions. Tom Gilson has worked hard on the arrangement of the posters!
Thanks to everyone and let’s get this show on the road!!
Bye! Leah Hinds and Katina Strauch
