Professional Career and Activities: Have worked at Wardman Library, Whittier College since I graduated with an MSLS from USC School of Library and Information Management in 1985.
My areas of scholarly expertise include: the Hollywood blacklist and the career of Richard Nixon
I have published three articles about the Hollywood blacklist and screenwriter Michael Wilson. The most recent appears in “Film History” (vol 24, #1 – 2012): “Unfinished business: Michael Wilson’s ‘Seven Pillars of Wisdom’ Screenplay” is about the script troubles with the classic film, “Lawrence of Arabia”.
I have also written a scholarly article (“California History”, Fall 1994) and chapter in a reference book about Richard Nixon.

In My Spare Time: I enjoy attending USC (not South Carolina) home football games in the fall.
My favorite recreational activity is fly fishing. During the summer, I usually make at least one fishing trip to the High Sierras around Mammoth Lakes, CA. I also accompany a long time friend in Northern California and fish the waters around Redding, CA (i.e., Upper and Lower Sacramento Rivers, McCloud River). I had a great time fly fishing the San Juan River in Mexico last summer.
Favorite Books: I like reading non-fiction works, especially biographies. “Steve Jobs” (2011) by Walter Isaacsson was excellent. “Unbroken” (2010) by Laura Hillenbrand is an outstanding story about the human spirit and survival. “Longitude” (1995) by Dava Sobel was a
