French National Agreement Brings ProQuest’s EEBO to Scholars

“ProQuest and the Bibliographic Agency for Higher Education (ABES) in France have signed a … new national license agreement that will enable all research and educational institutions throughout France and French territories to access Early English Books Online (EEBO).”  Researchers from ABES institutions will have access to “digitized pages from more than 125,000 early printed books… It also includes 25,000 fully searchable editions of texts produced by the EEBO Text Creation Partnership”

Publishing Technology signs landmark China deal

Publishing Technology plc has announced that ” it is partnering with the China National Publications Import and Export Corporation (CNPIEC) to deliver the first ever digital publishing platform to supply content to Chinese libraries.”  The arrangement could impact “more than 10,000 institutional users spanning academic and public libraries across the country. The… new site will use Publishing Technology’s pub2web platform with interfaces in English and Mandarin and aims to offer all Chinese libraries digital access to both local and international content.”
